Freezing Cold Atlanta

OK who forgot to pay the heating bill for the metro area?  It is f....r...e...e...z...i..n...g!  Yesterday, I don't think it got above 40 F.  Last night I made matzo ball soup and cookies to help warm up the kitchen.

I also discovered a new use for blue painter's tape--taping the edges of drafty windows and taping dish towels to window sills to keep the wind out. A five second fix. Although it would look better if the tape was color-coordinated to my kitchen.  I think I'll ring up Martha and suggest she do a line of painter's tape for Home Depot.

Bubble wrap will stick to a wet window and will act as insulation for the window. It won't seal the edges, but it keeps the cold glass from cooling down your rooms.

And it's worse today. We are certainly in the deep freeze, Atlanta-style. I painted five coats of blackboard paint on a very extraneous sliding glass door set this fall. I noticed last night that it wasn't the least bit cold to the surface. Interesting but pitch-dark LOL.

Whoops -- sounds like our weather has decided to head your way! We've got a cold weather alert out today as our temps are going to go down to -12 or lower. Yuck!!
Hope it warms up there fast!
