Well this is my 250th post and to celebrate all my ramblings and lots of cats photos, I'm having a giveaway!
The giveaway is: the book Just Desserts: Quick Quilts Using Precut Fabrics by Eddie McGinnis and four Moda charm packs (PS: the charm packs don't necessary go together but hey it's a giveaway). I may or may not surprise the lucky winner and myself and add some things to the giveaway who knows. It will be a surprise for both of us.

Since this giveaway has a vaguely summery theme (dessert, petal pushers, summer nights, cookies) and I really wish I could be somewhere other than hot, humid, smoggy Atlanta in the summer, to enter the giveaway comment on this post and let me know where you would spend the summer if money was no option (of course).

Winner will be chosen by random number generator and random number generating magicness will happen on Friday July 3rd. Deadline for entry is 5:00 PM EST on said Friday July 3rd.

If I had lots of money, and did not have to work to support my habit, I think I would be some place not quite so hot as Hotlanta but it needs to have lots of quilt shops, access to the ocean and no snow. Talk to you when you return. Becky and I are going to Sweet Home to celebrate our birthdays today! Miss you

250 posts...wow!!! I am in NJ and we're starting to have some hot weather too...
I LOVE your charm packs and that book too...I'd love to win them since July 3rd is a special day for me...My only son was born on that day in 1985!!!

Pick me, pick me...

Caribbean, definitely. Even though it's hot there I'd have the beach. And naturally, I'd have an air conditioner.

I love the heat, but it's the humidity that gets to me. Guess that I would have to pick a cozy beach house in So. CA as there is not the humidty issue and temps are generally in the 70s. Just leave me with my sewing machine and LOTS of fabric.

Congratulations on 250 posts. WOW!!!

If money was no object, I would spend the summers at a summer home/cottage on Georgian Bay in Ontario. It's an absolutely glorious cottage area here. Watching the weather change when at Georgian Bay is fascinating and living a cottage lifestyle during the summer months is pure heaven!

Gosh, 250 posts, that's terrific and always good to read. I'd love to win the giveaway. Nowhere exotic for me I'm afraid, I'm perfectly happy with the UK, we have so many wonderful, beautiful places to visit.

Easy peasy. I'd spend the summer at The Chautauqua Institution -- http://www.ciweb.org/. I'd rent a place with a couple of bedrooms so our kids could join us for part of the time. I'd take Bernina along. I'd make occasional trips off campus to replenish fabric. I'd attend lectures and concerts. I'd sew. I'd replenish ME. And all of this with DH and his sailboat. Oh, what a joyful fantasy! And I'd like very much to win your giveaway. And congratulations on your 250 posts!

Oh, this is easy. I would love to spend my summers on the beach in Oregon. I would live in the hills overlooking the ocean and walk the beach every day, rain or shine.

Dinky Creek, California - i spent two weeks there when i was (much, much) younger and it was incredibly cool (as in far out, not as in temeperature)

I don't even have to think about it, if money were no object I would head off to Alaska, it is so beautiful there. My hubby and I went about 5 years ago and keep talking about going back. There is so much to do there, we even managed to find some quilt shops.

If money were no object, hmmmm..... I'd spend the entire Summer on a wonderful beach, somewhere exotic like the Greek Isles. Dream Big!

Wonderful give-away! There are several quilts in that book that I'd love to begin....

Congrats on your 250th! You're way ahead of me!

Looking forward to your next 250 posts!

I would hate to spend the entire summer away from my grandkids, but if money was no option, I would love to go on a few quilting cruises. You would get to see the world and quilt, plus buy lots of fabric.

I would go to Quilt Festival in London and then take the cruise out of Southampton that goes to Scotland and Ireland (and has tours to quilt shops). Anyone want to go with me?

Congratulations on your 250th post, Gretchen. Wow! I almost reached my 100th. And what a lovely giveaway you have.
So, where would I like to be for the summer, if money doesn't play a role. I would love to visit California again with the camper, together with my family. Visit my dear friend there, go to Yosimite Park, LA, SA, and maybe croos the boarder to go to Canada. So, where would you love to stay?

Congratulations on 250 posts! What a great giveaway! I think if money were no object we'd head up to the Northwest...take that wonderful train through Canada and Alaska...then maybe drive through the wonderful parts of our country that we haven't seen.

Ti me Florida is just where I want to be. Beaches, pool, fun, relaxation and plenty of quilt shops. But if I did not have to work, I would buy a house closer to the beach with a 2nd story studio so I can look at the ocean all the time.
please count me in the giveaway. YOu are very generous.

Ireland! Nice and sunny but not too hot and the sun doesn't go down until 9 or 10 at night. The pubs, people and scenery aren't bad either.

Thanks for the chance to win!

I would spend the summer on a shore in Cape Breton watching the water change so many shades of blue, going for a dip on the warmer days and listening to the snap and crackle of bonfire flames in the evening.
The alternative would be a quilting cruse to Alaska with a tour of all the quilt shops along the way.

Well...well...we...I am glad I saw the reminder to comment before I lost the chance to win this fabuloso giveaway!!!!

Oh. My. Please, dear God and powers that be operating the Random Number Generator...PICK ME!!!! This would mean so much to me.

Where would I be if money was no object. In the mountains...high on a hill in Southwestern Va...quilting with some ladies of Appalachia...kicking it old school and learning all I could from them. And perusing the antique shops and thrift stores for old feed sacks, vintage fabric, and milk glass.

Enjoy your off time and I love ya...whether I win or not...you know that!!!
