Fun with Hexagons

I jumped right into the Fat Quarterly Hexy Quilt Along without previously trying English Paper Piecing (EPP).

I am pleased to report that it is way fun and I am hooked on sewing these hexies.

It's a great project to work on when it's too hot to do much of anything or when it's thunderstorming and I don't want to risk running the Bernina or when watching all day marathons of (fill in your favorite show here).

These are the first eight flowers I have done out of the 68 to make for the quilt.

It's a start!

Oh yeah - you're hooked! You whould have been warned about the addiction. Very pretty flowers!

That looks like a great start to me! I intend to make a few of those flowers myself this summer, maybe while I'm watching the Olympics!

Wow! That is going to be a great quilt :-) I love the grey :-) and the yellow combo! Good idea to work on that project during a thunderstorm. I'm always looking for what I call a "hurricane project". Something to work on when/if.....I'm trying to be optimistic here.......we lose power. There is nothing like a few days of miserable heat, with no power with nothing to work on! As you know. I takes my mind off my troubles. I usually save a binding project for it, but your idea is better.
