Gift Quilts

I don't know where time keeps going.  I haven't kept up with the blog very well this month at all.

Thanks to everyone who's entered the giveaway so far!!  Remy is enjoying his month-long birthday wishes and is well on his way to letting it all go to his head.  LOL!

I did get two of the gift quilts done, mailed, delivered, and the recipients are so happy with them.  Yea!

This first quit was a kit from one of the Moda Blackbird Designs fabric lines.  I gave it to my aunt in Wisconsin.  I am so happy that she really liked it.

This quilt is for my cousin, his wife and their two adorable little girls, also in Wisconsin.   They bought absolutely wonderful historic house and this is a belated new old-housewarming present for them.  I asked them awhile back to email me photos and guess what, the quilt matching their house.  Sneaky aren't I?
Of course not one but two cats photobombed this photo. There is Stella and Remy trying to find S., the quilt holder.

Oh and here's a new Remy photo for the Remy fans.  He ADORES paper bags and I have a few so he gets one until it completely is shredded, it goes in the recycling bin, and then he gets a new one.  This is one is about half-way through its life span.

Happy Thursday everyone!  Only one more day and then the weekend.  I need to finish up the 3rd gift quilt this weekend for my friend's big b-day ending in zero.

August is Flying By

August is just zooming by.  School starts this week for the rest of the metro Atlanta area which means traffic gets 10 times worse and I'll have to stop hitting snooze a million times get up earlier.  I am working on three gift quilts at the moment. One just needs a label, one needs binding finished, and one I am quilting myself.  I'll have photos soon, as I hope to get these all out this month.

Oh and a big day is coming at the end of this month.

Someone is celebrating his one-year-old birthday on August 29th.

In honor of not-so-little-anymore Remy's upcoming birthday, I'm having a little giveaway for my faithful readers, who have followed his antics since November.

There is a choice of giveaways.

Choice #1 is eight fat quarters of batiks.

Choice #2 is nine fat quarters of an older Kansas Troubles line called Strawberry Jam.

Just leave a comment on this post and let me know if you would like choice #1 or choice #2.
Drawing will be held on Mr. Remy Mischief's Birthday August 29th.

Fine print:  Random drawing. Please make sure I can get ahold of you via email.  Thanks!! Remy thanks you too.

A Mixed Bag

Mr. Remy Mischief

I just love this photo of Remy. It just makes me smile.
Taken with the Hipstamatic app on iVan the iPhone.

Lots of stuff went on this week.  Mostly stressful work stuff that's better left unsaid and forgotten.  Very little sewing happened.  Although I did work on hexagons.

Here's some more fabric squares that will soon be hexagons.

Some retail therapy in the form of COLORFUL layer cakes.  I have a plan for these that is brewing.
I just adore this wintery line with polar bears and crisp, clear, icy colors.   This makes me smile too.  Don't know what I'm going to make from this but it is wonderful to look at wintery fabric with polar bears when it's been nonstop mid-90s humid hot icky summer here.

Did I show this already?  I can't remember. Block 2 for the Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery Quilt.  I finished it right after it arrived in the mail. Then found it in my photostream.   The photo is needs to be rotated 90 degrees.  Let's just pretend that it is OK?

Block 3 will be arriving soon.  Love this fun BOM.
